Welcome to AsaanKam. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and AsaanKam (“AsaanKam”, “we”, “us”) covering the AsaanKam Android app, the website at asaankam.com, and every service offered through them (together, the “Platform”). Please read them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these Terms.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using the Platform you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts in Pakistan. One AsaanKam account may be used as a customer, a service provider, an employer and a jobseeker; these Terms apply to all of those roles.
2. Platform role
AsaanKam is a marketplace. It lets customers post service requests, lets approved independent providers bid on them, and lets verified employers post jobs that jobseekers apply for. AsaanKam is not a party to any service agreement or employment relationship formed between users. Providers are independent contractors, not employees, agents or representatives of AsaanKam, and AsaanKam does not supervise, direct or control the work they do. Employers, not AsaanKam, are responsible for any hiring decision and any resulting employment relationship.
3. Requests and bids
- A customer may post a service request describing the work, with photos and a pinned location. Posting is free.
- Approved providers near the request may submit bids. A bid is an offer to perform the described work for the stated price.
- Accepting a bid creates a direct agreement between the customer and that provider for the work described, at the bid price. The provider must confirm within 5 minutes of acceptance; if they do not, the request reopens to other bidders.
- Customers must describe requests honestly and accurately. Providers must bid only for work they are able and qualified to perform, and must perform it with reasonable care and skill.
- AsaanKam is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or timeliness of any work, for a provider’s qualifications, or for a customer’s conduct or ability to pay. Ratings and reviews are the opinions of the users who wrote them.
4. Payments
- Payment for services is made directly between the customer and the provider, by cash or mobile wallet, at the agreed bid price. AsaanKam does not process, collect, hold or escrow customer payments and is not responsible for any payment dispute between users.
- AsaanKam charges the provider a platform commission of 10% of the value of each job completed through the Platform. The commission is booked against the provider’s ledger when the customer confirms completion with their OTP. Customers are not charged a fee.
- Providers must settle their ledger through the process shown in the app. Commission dues are capped at 2,000 rupees; a provider whose dues reach the cap must settle before continuing to bid. Settlement details are shown only to approved providers inside the app; AsaanKam never requests payment by phone, SMS or messaging apps.
- Referral and milestone credits are applied to the relevant ledger under the conditions shown in the app. Credits do not expire, cannot be exchanged for cash, and one credit may be applied per booking.
5. Completion OTP
When a provider requests completion of a job, the customer receives a 6-digit one-time code valid for 15 minutes. The customer should share the code only when satisfied that the work has been completed as agreed. Once the code is entered the job is marked complete, the provider’s commission is booked, and the ability to raise a dispute about that job may be limited. Customers must not withhold the code in bad faith once the agreed work has been completed; providers must not pressure, trick or coerce a customer into sharing it.
6. Cancellations and disputes
- A customer may cancel a booking before the provider arrives. Repeated cancellations may affect account standing.
- A provider may cancel an accepted job only with a written reason; the request then reopens to other bidders. Frequent cancellations may lead to suspension.
- Disputes about the work or the final price must be raised through the Platform within 24 hours of completion using the report options on the completion and final-price screens, or by emailing support@asaankam.com. Behaviour reports (section 9) may be filed at any time.
- AsaanKam may review the booking record, chat and reports and may, at its discretion, adjust account standing, suspend or block accounts, or decline to intervene. AsaanKam does not adjudicate payment between users and cannot compel refunds.
7. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- post false, misleading or fraudulent requests, bids, job listings or applications;
- impersonate another person or business, or submit documents that are not your own;
- circumvent the Platform to avoid commission — including taking a job found through AsaanKam off-platform, or marking a job cancelled while completing it;
- manipulate ratings or reviews, or write reviews of jobs that did not happen;
- use the Platform for anything unlawful, or to collect other users’ data;
- interfere with the Platform’s operation or security, or access it by automated means without permission.
Safety — sections 8 to 10
These sections apply equally to customers and providers, and to employers and jobseekers. Everything they describe is backed by machinery that exists in the app: a Behaviour report type, a booking freeze, an account-wide block, and identity documents on file.
8. Zero tolerance for harassment and abuse
AsaanKam has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and abuse. It applies equally to customers and providers, in chat, on the phone and in person. The following is strictly prohibited:
- Harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment — unwelcome comments, advances, requests or conduct of a sexual nature;
- abusive, threatening, obscene or discriminatory language, in chat or in person;
- intimidation, stalking, or unwanted contact after a job ends, including using a phone number obtained through the Platform for any purpose other than the booking;
- theft, property damage, or entering areas of a home you were not invited into;
- physical violence or any threat of it;
- demanding money or favours outside the agreed job, including refusing to leave or to release a completed job until an extra payment is made, or withholding payment for completed work to extract concessions.
9. How we act on it
- Reporting. Tap “Report Behaviour” on the booking screen — it is present for both the customer and the provider, at every stage of a booking including after completion — or email support@asaankam.com. The booking is frozen the moment a behaviour report is filed and stays frozen while our team reviews it.
- Evidence. In-app chat, the booking record and the identity documents every provider submits at onboarding are retained, so reports are investigated against real records rather than one word against another.
- Consequences. Substantiated reports lead to suspension or a permanent block. Because customer, provider, employer and jobseeker use all run on one login, a block applies across the whole account at once.
- Law enforcement. Where conduct appears criminal, AsaanKam will report it to the police, support the affected person in registering an FIR, and provide the booking records, chat history and verified identity information it holds to law enforcement on lawful request. Our Privacy Policy authorises this disclosure.
- False reports. Knowingly making a false report is itself a violation of these Terms and may lead to the same consequences.
10. If you are in immediate danger
Call Police 15 or Rescue 1122 first.
Get to safety. Report in the app afterwards — the report can wait; your safety cannot. AsaanKam is not an emergency service and cannot dispatch help.
11. Limitation of liability
The Platform is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AsaanKam disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty about the quality, safety, legality or timeliness of services performed by providers, the suitability of any candidate or employer, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. AsaanKam is not liable for any loss, damage, injury or dispute arising from a service agreement or employment relationship between users, from a user’s conduct, or from payments made between users. Where liability cannot be excluded, AsaanKam’s total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the platform commission AsaanKam actually received in respect of the booking giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. TODO(owner’s lawyer): confirm the liability cap
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. TODO(owner’s lawyer): confirm governing-law and jurisdiction wording, and review sections 8–10
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows the current version. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. We may also suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time.
